At little Blossoms it is important to us that all clients feel safe and comfortable in their environment which feels like home. Located in an area full of nature Little Blossoms offers a large sized garden where we encourage our young women to take an interest in gardening, nature and wellbeing.
Our bedrooms are furnished with a fitted storage bed, wardrobes, bedside table, and a new-born cot available upon request. Little Blossoms has created a communal area accessible at all times with a TV. Further to this, a full equipped kitchen is also included in our accommodation with ample amount of storage allocated to each placement along with a shared Bathroom.
Here at Little Blossoms we encourage an open door policy to encourage two way communication with premises staffed 24/7. To encourage positive habits we have a large office where clients are able to come at any time to take part in their key worker sessions or simply raise any concerns, they have in regard to their care, accommodation or any other issues they wish to discuss.
As a semi-independent supported accommodation provider, we aim to promote independence in day to day life, by providing practical skills like cooking, cleaning , budgeting and organisational skills. It is equally important to ensure that our clients get the right support emotionally and psychologically.
Here at Little Blossoms, we do have access to a trainee counselling psychologist and mental health First Aider, who have worked with a wide range of individuals from both private and public sector. Our in-house trainee therapist specialises in training in existentialism. This form of therapy looks at how we exist in the world, and with our young mothers entering their new journey in life, the question they may ask themselves is “who am I now and am I only now a mother?
These questions would be considered normal in these situations, as well as challenges from the past can also be addressed if they wish to have access to our trainee therapist.
Our team will also assist clients in finding other services that they feel may be more suitable to them like that of group therapy, or young people therapy.
In addition to this, we have access to a range of services through well established strong community links and clients can get access to the contact details through their keyworker or in our office at any time.
When clients come to us at Little Blossoms, we want our clients to feel comfortable and confident. Key worker sessions are an essential part of the young mother's journey, as key workers are there to provide their one-to-one attention to the clients, to support them in developing their skills and most importantly reach their goals and objectives.
Some of the areas that are discussed in key worker sessions are work and education programmes, welfare rights and setting up benefits. These sessions are important in the development of the client both as a person and as a mother, as these sessions will outline any successes and any areas that require further support.
In addition to this, clients have access to their key worker at all times in case of any emergency or concerns that they may have.
